This was our second time to stay at Bamboo Bali Bonaire and we wish we never had to leave! We stayed in “Just the two of us” which is nicely decorated and very comfortable (but we think that’s the case for all the cottages!). The bathroom is luxurious and the kitchen had everything we needed for our week’s stay. Having 3 outdoor seating areas (and a hammock!) to choose from was a real plus too. The gas barbecue is also not far from the cottage so we used it on several occasions.
Nothing seems far when you are in Bonaire, and Bamboo Bali is in a great location. It’s across the road from Rum Rummers which is great for happy hour cocktails with sunset view. And Bamboo Bali is near to several really good snorkelling sites (1000 steps, Karpata, & Tolo were our favourites). The drift snorkel on Klein Bonaire is also a must (we went with Caribe watersports on Debbie’s recommendation).
Communication with Debbie by email was terrific. She was always helpful and quick to respond. She also organised our truck rental with AB Car Rental. And after our arriving flight was delayed, Anno stayed up until 2am to meet us and show us to our cottage. We were so grateful to have finally arrived and he was very kind and welcoming. And finally, Ruth is lovely and made our room up every other day and gave us fresh towels.
“Just the two of us” is closer to the main road than some of the other cottages but this wasn’t much of an issue during the day (much less noise than we have in London at least!) and we couldn’t hear traffic when we were inside overnight.
It’s hard to imagine staying anywhere else when our time spent at Bamboo Bali was comfortable and relaxing. Can’t wait to return!
Finally, just as a general note for Bonaire, withdrawing cash from the ATMs will incur a charge. MCB charged us $4 for each cash withdrawal. This was quite a surprise as we don’t even incur charges from our own bank to withdraw money abroad. We ended up using our credit card to pay for things instead.
